Comment I have been trying to file a claim since Monday 2/27/23. It’s unbelievable, almost like they don’t want you to do it. Ive asked for help which is alwys virtual , no real people! When I call number listed for Spbg unemployment recording says (restricted). Anyone out there that can help?
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble filing for unemployment insurance. Unfortunately I do not have the authority to access or change state unemployment systems.
However, here are some possible ways to get assistance:
Contact the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) directly by phone at (866) 831-1724. The lines are open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Contact DEW through their online portal at https://dew.sc.gov/individuals/apply-for-benefits. You can find answers to frequently asked questions or chat with a virtual assistant.
Contact your state representatives and senators to inquire about your situation and ask for assistance.
Consider reaching out to non-profit organizations that may be able to provide support during this difficult time.
I hope this information helps, and I wish you the best of luck in resolving your issue.
