received a correspondence saying I did not validate my identity. Do I have to go to the unemployment office in person

Q) I filed on line last week. I am a NY resident who worked in NJ. I received a correspondence saying I did not validate my identity (I included my SS#) but do not have any NJ id number. Do I have to go to the unemployment office in person, or can this be handled over the phone?

A) Recommend you call your local unemployment office for instruction. They may ask you to post mail a copy of a valid ID (or Fax) or bring the ID to a local unemployment office.
