I have never had to file for unemployment before

unemployed_personQ) I have never had to file for unemployment before so I need help how to please..

A) First locate your nearest unemployment office, (you can do that here https://unemploymentoffice.us/). Visit the office and speak with a counselor at the office and he or she will guide you in filling out the necessary application to receive unemployment benefits.

Some state unemployment office websites also allow you to apply online. Visit your state website for more information on applying online for unemployment benefits.

  1. I need help my job just let me go saying its slow work but keep new workers..like he replaced me he didn’t have no talk with me or give me a paperwork that I am fired…can I still get unemployment I been there one year
    and seven months

  2. Being there for over a year it is more that likely that you have completed your required work hours to qualify. Due to the fact the each state administrates their unemployment benefit program differently and has different eligibility requirements it’s always best to visit your state website to view that information. After viewing the eligibility requirements you can (on some State’s Unemployment Website) file your claim online. https://unemploymentoffice.us/unemployment-eligibility-requirements-state/

690 Responses to Tell Us Your Experience At Your Local Unemployment Office

  1. Similar experience, but I was in person. The security guard was super rude! I asked her if I was in the right place, and she rudely replied, “you’ll need to talk to her!” I made several attempts to ask if I was simply in the correct building, but she kept repeating the same thing. I asked her name, but she would not give it to me. Then a black man with a speech impediment walks over and tells me that I cannot take pictures with my cell phone after I took her picture. I asked to see the policy, but he did not produce one. Instead he pointed to a sign on the wall that read, “please silence your electronic devices.” I was very upset by this point, and I left. They are miserable people, and I praise God that I never have to see them again!
