I need to have an appointment to finish my unemployment. I need to get an appointment for help to do this. I don’t read or write so I need help.
If you need assistance with finishing your California unemployment claim and you are unable to read or write, there are several options available to you:
Phone: You can call the Employment Development Department (EDD) at 1-800-300-5616 and follow the prompts to speak with a representative. They can assist you with completing your claim and scheduling an appointment for in-person assistance, if necessary.
In-Person: You can visit your local EDD office for assistance. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many offices have limited availability and require an appointment. You can schedule an appointment online or by calling 1-800-300-5616.
Online: If you have access to a computer, you can complete your unemployment claim online using the EDD website. The website also has information and resources available to help you navigate the process.
It is important to note that California offers language services and accommodations for individuals with disabilities. If you need assistance in a language other than English or require accommodations due to a disability, you can contact the EDD for assistance.
