Can’t get ahold of anyone. Been filing since August and it’s still pending. Started back to part time work but the debt has added up from being out of work so long. I understand the hard times but come on people.
Having received the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance PUA) for the last year, I noticed my payments had stopped. I’ve since learned I have to re-apply for regular Unemployment Insurance (UI) to be reinstated to the PUA program. At no stage was I informed of the requirement to re-apply. Fortunately, I read it on the GA DOL website. Now, one week after re-applying I have received an email that my claim has been received. I believe that GA DOL say that claims should be processed in 48 hours. I have had no monies since March 20th. I leave messages daily at the Cobb Cherokee Career Center. No one has every returned my messages, despite the fact that a pre recorded message assures that the GA DOL is there and listening. Clearly they are not. In fact I find the communication absolutely shocking as there has been none. You can imagine how frustrating this is, and imagine if I employed the same level of communication in my business, yes, I wouldn’t have any business, customers would go elsewhere. Sadly, I can’t go anywhere else, and instead left to the waiting game. Cobb Cherokee offices are closed to the public otherwise I would go see them in person. Despite the fact that GA is open for business, GA DOL employees are not.
