Auburn Career Center introduced its new partnership with Great Lakes Truck Driving School to offer a commercial driver’s license program. Developers of the program believe this is the first public and private partnership of its kind in Ohio, and possibly the nation. On Oct. 19, students could enter into the eight-week program, beginning with three weeks of classroom material at Auburn Career Center. Following the weeks in the classroom, students travel to Great Lakes Truck Driving School in Columbia Station for five weeks of hands-on truck driving experience. The program has enticed 18 companies to join in, offering seven-week paid externships to students who have completed the classroom and hands-on training. http://www.news-herald.com/article/HR/20151029/NEWS/151029433
