You can receive unemployment benefits if the employer fired you for being late for work several times, but the infractions were relatively minor, unintentional, such as an illness in the family or some kind of family emergency. You are eligible for unemployment benefits only if you are out of work through no fault of your own. You can claim unemployment benefits if you were terminated because of financial cutbacks in the company or because you were not qualified or unable to perform the job for which you were hired.
I am on medical leave for a back injury…short term disability has denied my claim….am I eligible for weekly benifits?
