WHO CLAIM I HAVE AN UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION DEBT. HOW DO I RESOLVE THIS ISSUE? I HAVE TRIED EVERY 800# GIVEN TO ME TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER AND NOW I AM BEING REFERRED BACK TO UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICES AND CAREER CENTER. WHAT LOTTERY OFFICE NEED IS A LETTER SHOWING I OWE NO DEBT TO DEO, UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION. HOPEFULLY YOU CAN HELP ME. THANK YOU
To resolve this issue, you will need to obtain a letter from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) stating that you do not owe any unemployment compensation debt. Here are the steps you can take:
- Contact the DEO directly: Call the DEO at 1-800-681-WORK (9675) and explain your situation. They should be able to provide you with the necessary documentation to prove that you do not owe any debt.
- Request a debt verification letter: Ask the DEO to send you a letter verifying that you do not have any outstanding unemployment compensation debt. This letter can be used to provide proof to the lottery office.
- Visit a local career center: If you are unable to resolve the issue over the phone, you can visit a local career center. They may be able to assist you in obtaining the necessary documentation.
- Appeal the decision: If the DEO claims that you do owe a debt, you can appeal their decision. The appeal process will vary depending on the specific circumstances of your case.
Once you have obtained the necessary documentation, you can provide it to the lottery office to resolve the issue.
