I have been trying to talk to someone about unemployment

Q) I have been trying to talk to someone about unemployment but all that I have received have been a bunch of automated messages. I called a number yesterday and it had me to put my information in and then it told me to file a claim and I started filing new claim but now my account information has changed and it is telling me to call in my claim in 2 weeks! I was off work sick until I received a letter that my employment ended and when I filed the system told me to call in. Yesterday when I called and was told my status and told me if I had new claim to file again and I did!

A) I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been having trouble navigating the unemployment system. Filing for unemployment benefits can often be a complicated process, and it can be frustrating to receive automated responses or conflicting information.

It sounds like you may have filed a new claim, but the system has changed your account information and is now requiring you to call in after two weeks. My best advice would be to call the unemployment office as soon as possible and speak to a representative directly. They can help clarify any confusion and guide you through the process.

It’s also a good idea to have all relevant information, such as your previous employer’s information, dates of employment, and reasons for separation, handy when you call. This can help expedite the process and ensure that your claim is processed correctly.

If you’re still having trouble, you can consider reaching out to a local employment attorney or a community legal clinic for assistance. They may be able to help you navigate the process and resolve any issues you’re facing.
