Your question: hi i was employed full time 40 hrs work got slow i asked my boss to lay me off he said no his rates would go up he told me he got a ppp loan to keep me on the payroll he cut my hours down to 20 hours im making half a pay check is it legal for him to do this can i collect also for lost income thank you bill
You can file for Partial Unemployment if you are getting 20 hours of work instead of the usual 40 hours. Partial unemployment insurance claims may be filed by employers for full-time employees who work less than full-time during a pay period due to lack of work only. The employees must still be attached to the employer.
