A) I understand that you are having trouble with your unemployment benefits. I am sorry to hear that you are having such a difficult time getting through to EDD. I can help you with some suggestions that may help you get through to someone:

  • Try calling during off-peak hours. EDD is typically busiest during the morning and early afternoon hours. If you call during the evening or on weekends, you may have a better chance of getting through to someone.
  • Try calling from a different phone number. Sometimes, EDD’s call volume is so high that they will only put through calls from certain phone numbers. If you are not able to get through on your cell phone, try calling from a landline or a friend’s phone.
  • Try using the EDD chat feature. EDD has a live chat feature that is available on their website. This is a good option if you are unable to get through on the phone.
  • Try emailing EDD. EDD has an email address that you can use to contact them. However, it may take several days to get a response.
  • Try visiting an EDD office in person. If you are unable to get through on the phone or online, you can try visiting an EDD office in person. This is the best option if you need to speak to someone immediately.

It can be frustrating when you are unable to reach anyone to help you with your issue. Here are some steps you can take:

  1. Keep trying to call the phone number for your state’s unemployment office. It may take some time to get through, but keep calling at different times of the day to increase your chances of reaching someone.
  2. Send another email or fax to the unemployment office explaining your situation. Be sure to include your full name, social security number, and any other relevant information.
  3. Consider reaching out to your local state representative’s office for assistance. They may be able to help you get in touch with someone at the unemployment office or advocate on your behalf.
  4. If all else fails, you can try visiting the unemployment office in person. This may require taking time off work or rearranging your schedule, but it may be the best option if you are unable to get through on the phone or receive a response via email or fax.

I hope these suggestions help you get through to EDD and get your benefits sorted out. As last resort Please call or visit your local unemployment office to fix the problem of certifying for your unemployment benefit checks.
